The Adventure of a Lifetime

Thank you to my good friend and 15 years participating HTC, Jeff "Barney" Barnhart, I had the opportunity to run this relay three times, in 2006, 2007 and 2009. My first year I ran leg two and was on my team Rawhide running club, runners and walkers Lake Grapevine. In 2007, I ran the last leg across the sea and the beach. When the final runner of the team reached the beach, the team performs the final few hundred meters together. In 2009, we entered two teams of 12 people in the lottery and the two were accepted. Twenty-four riders on our two teams, team and Rawhide RAWseek team invaded Portland.After the grocery store and decorate the vans, we were ready to go to the mountain and start running. Every person on a team of 12 runs of 36 feet 3. I was very honored to get to run a leg for Rawhide, while my friend Mike Ahearn led off RAWseek. What experience descending 2000 feet on the winding mountain road. Good friends, cold weather, mountains, oceans and run - what could be better than that. Suffice it to say that traveling on a relay team with the coast was quite an experience.Sleeping on the ground and in the van, packing and cook our food, peanut butter, and no showers, was quite a nightmare journey for someone who thinks like Côtes camping means staying at Hotel Ritz-Carlton, Ruth and Chris is fast food. Fortunately for me, I was not in his van and only had to listen to the stories, rather than the complaints firsthand. To erase data filtering InPrivate Go to Tools / Internet Options.
